The new book Muralismo Morte - The Rebirth of Muralism in Contemporary Urban Art by Jens Besser reveals a visual language as old as time itself. The urgency of now has catapulted many new muralists into translating a new type of language. This new vibrancy of communication comes as an after-effect caused by current economic strains under the changing political shadows of numerous metropolises worldwide.

The new “muralist” language spans from prominent places to decayed ruins. From hidden and anonymous caverns to large scale attention-seeking messages. All and all, Jens Besser has curated a book that successfully reveals some of the most exciting international artists virtually known and unknown.

His documentation uncovers urban treasures and changing insight into an emerging scene hell-bent on coloring our own urban experiences.

With the help of essays by Robert Kaltenhäuser, Peter Michalski, Resto and Thilo Fröbel, this book helps even those who stay inside to better understand how visual language effects each and every one of us from outside experiences to underground train rides.
